Doris Pickett Plate Movie Competition
The late Doris Pickett was a member of both Potters Bar Cine & Video Society (now Potters Br FilmMakers) and St Albans Movie Makers. The two clubs hold this friendly annual competition in her memory. Friendly maybe, but none the less competitive!
Each club will enter one movie in each of the four agreed categories. The winning film in the individual categories is awarded 3 points and the losing club 2 points. In addition each club selects one film as its 'Joker'. The title of this movie is placed in a sealed envelope before the competition and the envelope handed to the judge. Once the scores are disclosed the judge opens the Joker envelopes and the selected films scores are doubled.
The winner is the club with the most points, In the event of a draw the judge will be asked to award one point to the club which they consider to have entered the most entertaining programme.
